Directed by Travis Gutiérrez Senger at Asanisimasa Films this documentary is about the Chicano art group who turned 1970s LA into their defiant canvas.
Merging activism with radical art-making, ASCO challenged the established order of Hollywood, museums, and media and are now considered amongst the 20th century’s most significant artists.
The film premiered at SXSW 2025 and was the Opening Night film of LALIFF, co-presented with LACMA. The project is produced by North of Now, La Corriente del Golfo and ANM. Features Zoe Saldaña, Michael Peña, artists, curators and many more.
